Hi! I'm Galush, a queer musician with a passion for education and using music as a form of expression and communication! I am three time finalist at the American Beatbox championships who specializes in live music production by pairing the human voice with technology. My live performances of original music and covers spans the complete sonic palette from the raw voice to a full-band sound, all from the mouth!
I graduated in 2020 from Bowdoin College with a double-major in Music and Gender/Sexuality Studies. Born and raised in rural CT, I attended Asheville School in NC for four years before retuning to New England for a Post-Graduate year at the Hotchkiss School.
I've partnered with BEAT Global, the Academy of Noise, and most notably Arts for Learning CT & MA to work as a teaching artist and lead clinical research studies pairing beatboxing with speech therapy. Since 2020, I have kept an active roster of independent students in beatboxing, looping, singing, songwriting, and digital production. I believe that music gives students the opportunity to build confidence and express themselves in inspired and effective ways. My work crosses cultural with clinical, advancing neuroinclusive pedagogies developed in Special Ed, ABA, and SLP fields. Beatbox Pedagogy offers a radically accepting, queer, decolonial, and anti-racist guiding philosophy.
I would love team up with you or your organization to meet your goals in your music experience!
